Home Improvement Woes

The clock is definitely ticking on a few of our projects, we started re-doing our basement last May.... and it's not finished.  Baby Schmeer likes to kick me to remind me that he (or she) would like to live in a house with a completed basement project!
And along comes a completely free weekend, perfect for getting stuff done!  The first de-motivator, the windchill yesterday was -19... and today isn't too much nicer.

So this morning Greg and I took all of the measurements in the basement so we could do the baseboard today and off to Menards we went, in the back of our minds we were a little worried that new baseboard wouldn't cover the gap between our wall and carpet... Mr. Troy Meijer (we found his name during construction projects) made a lot of stupid decisions, one of which was using 2x2 for a baseboard.
Obviously-this wasn't happening, so along came the break down, I'll cry about anything these days.
Now we've added new carpeting to the list of things to do, there's nothing like trying to cross things off your to-do list, only to add more... big ones.
But Greg reminded me that we're so blessed that we can afford that right now, so it's not the end of the world, bonus points for praying before we started our day today.  It's amazing how the world tries to knock you down, especially on days when you're with it spiritually.  Somebody is playing pretty dirty...

So tomorrow we'll be installing new baseboard (get excited) which means pictures to come of the basement.  And another project-I reorganized our linen closet, so I'll be sure to post pictures of that too. It's amazing what $40 of boxes from IKEA can do for your insanity.
